enjay Etching Presses

success stories

This was rescued from a scrap heap...  Hard to believe it’s the same press.

This RP18Basic was made in 1976 and was in a disgusting condition after 39 years of use, misuse and abuse. But it was still sound and just needed some TLC, a modern handwheel and a bedplate. Now it’s ready for the next 50 years or more. enjay carried out this work for Hilary Cresp of Artspace8 in Mornington Victoria.

Geared etching press

Neil, your service was very knowledgeable and thorough. It is great to know that there are options when in the future the gears might need replacing. I think in the past the two sides of the press were out of parallel which caused the wear over time. All adjusted now!

From Mandy Burgess, Sydney

This RP18 geared press was made in 1977. It had done plenty of prints since but all it needed was a new bedplate and felts. Neil gave servicing advice by email. Now it’s ready for its new career in Mandy’s studio. So if you know the location of an old enjay press, consider rejuvenation by enjay.

Comments from other customers:

enjay etching pressMy new Enjay etching press will be getting a good workout while I make work for this show. This geared press requires less effort to turn the wheel and allows me to print works up to 56 x 76cm in my studio. Woohoo!
