Just a quick thank you for my portable press!
It has been wonderfully easy to use for both my solar etching plates and linocut prints! I have used it in Caulfield, and taken her to our beach house in Tootgarook! She is perfect in both places!
I saw it in your ad in Imprint. It was perfect timing as I had been going backwards and forwards about getting a press, a big one, a little one... and the ones I had seen previously were too heavy for me to consider as portable. When I checked your website, I loved the photo of the lady carrying the press out of her car!
Anyway, back to the main point... I am super happy to have Violet in my studios! It also means I can print whenever I like, without needing to worry about the madness going on in the world!

Our press is robust, safe, and exceptionally smooth with direct drive and a comfortable crank handle. The large high pressure composite bedplate at 320mm x 560mm is long lasting and safer than steel. Making the printing of relief or intaglio effortless.
Producing a body of work with the RP12, it will glide through the robust 60mm diameter electroplated rollers. Clever manufacturing of the unit has provided no hidden finger trap points, fitted bed stops, making this a perfectly safe etching press.

After studying graphic design - illustration at Staffordshire university I began a career in animation. During this fun and exciting time I was responsible for fabricating the Martians in the Tim Burton film ‘Mars Attacks’ and making many foam latex and silicone parts of puppets for productions at Cosgrove Hall Films in Manchester. I was given the wonderful role of puppet maintaince on many children's productions. However, my ultimate goal was to become a puppet animator which I did and then went on to animate on programmes including Noddy, Postman Pat, Bob the Builder and Andy Pandy.
Whilst animating fulltime I signed up for a short course in printmaking and discovered a overwhelming passion for all things print. With a desire to get my hands inky I learnt various techniques such as acid etching, linocut and screen printing.
I took a break from animation to start a family and found that I was able to devote more of my time to printmaking providing a good work-life balance while my three childen were young. As my knowledge and enthusiasm grew I started to exhibit my work at various creative events and began to sell my prints through my website.
I now have been printmaking and selling my creations for just over 20 years. In addition to my own printmaking I support other people’s creativity by running regular printmaking workshops and printmaking holidays in Portugal and Spain. I use my beautiful blue RP12 etching press to teach others the wonderful world of print. It's the most fabulous small portable press and prints like a dream!
